Book Your Onguma Safari
Rates at Onguma vary by camp, season, and package type, and the right combination depends on when you are travelling, how many guests are in your party, and what kind of experience you are looking for. The reservations team works with guests and travel agents directly to put together the right stay, whether that is a two-night stopover on a self-drive itinerary or a longer multi-camp experience across the reserve.
To check availability, request a rates sheet, or ask a question before committing to a booking, reach out to the team directly. If something does not quite fit, they will tell you, and if there is a better option for your dates or budget, they will say so.
The Rhino Conservation Levy
Every guest who stays at Onguma contributes a compulsory Rhino Conservation Levy as part of their booking. This levy is used exclusively to fund the protection and management of the rhino population on the Onguma Nature Reserve, supporting the Anti-Poaching Unit, wildlife monitoring, and the reserve’s ongoing custodianship responsibilities under Namibia’s Black Rhino Custodianship Programme.
The levy is non-negotiable and applies to all guests, including children and guides.
- Lodge guests: N$275.00 per person per night
- Campsite guests: N$65.00 per person per night
Booking Terms & Conditions
General Booking Conditions
- All bookings, amendments, and cancellations must be submitted in writing and are only confirmed once acknowledged in writing by the Onguma reservations team.
- STO rates are only valid when the booking and payment are made through a registered travel agent or tour operator.
- Provisional bookings are held for 14 days and will be automatically released if written confirmation is not received within this period.
- Provisional bookings made within the cancellation period are held for 24 hours only and will be automatically released if written confirmation is not received.
- All rates and conditions are subject to change. Every effort is made to maintain rates throughout the year, but Onguma reserves the right to adjust where necessary.
- A single supplement applies per night when booking three-night packages.
Payment Conditions
- All private and direct bookings require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to arrival.
- Full payment of the accommodation account is required 30 days prior to arrival.
- A non-refundable administration fee of 10% applies to all individual and private bookings cancelled before the cancellation fee period comes into effect.
- A non-refundable administration fee of 25% applies to all group bookings cancelled before the cancellation fee period comes into effect.
- Accepted payment methods: Mastercard and Visa.
- All payments must be made in Namibian Dollars.
Cancellation Policy
Lodge and Camp Bookings (Maximum 3 Rooms)
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The following fees apply to all confirmed bookings:
Notice period Cancellation fee 31 days or more before arrival 10% 15 to 30 days before arrival 25% 8 to 14 days before arrival 50% 7 days or fewer before arrival, and no-shows 100% Campsite Bookings
Campsite reservations that are cancelled rather than postponed are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. Pre-payments on campsite bookings are non-refundable. Cancellations and postponements must be submitted in writing to be considered.
Travel Agents and Tour Operators
- Onguma works closely with registered travel agents and tour operators. STO rates and conditions apply exclusively to bookings made and paid for through registered agents. For trade enquiries, rate sheets, and partnership information, please contact the reservations team directly.
