Directions to Onguma

Onguma Nature Reserve sits on the eastern boundary of Etosha National Park in northern Namibia, approximately five and a half hours by road from Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport. Namibia is an excellent self-drive destination, and the roads to Onguma are accessible by standard two-wheel drive vehicle throughout.

By Air

Onguma has a private airstrip on site, accommodating charter and scheduled flights (only landing Mokuti) from Windhoek and other destinations across Namibia. For guests who prefer to fly rather than drive, this is the most direct option.

A Note on Driving

Namibia’s roads between major centres cover considerable distances, and it is worth planning your drive accordingly. The road to Onguma is tarred as far as the C38 turnoff, with good gravel roads from there to the reserve entrance and between camps. Fuel is available in Tsumeb and Outjo. We recommend filling up before turning onto the C38.

If you have any questions about getting to Onguma or would like advice on planning your route, the team is happy to assist.
