Onguma Forest Camp
Tucked into the Tamboti forest along one of Onguma's ancient dry riverbeds, Forest Camp is the reserve's most relaxed and atmospheric camp. Carrying a genuine sense of classic safari character, the camp sits within a riverine environment where tall thatched roofs, wooden furniture, and private verandas look out into the surrounding forest. An elevated viewing deck and swimming pool overlook a large and active waterhole, and an impressive wine cellar and boma exclusive to this camp sets the tone for evenings spent dining under the stars.
Accommodation
Forest Camp offers four distinct room types across eleven bungalows, catering to families, couples, and solo travellers alike. All units feature high thatched ceilings, private verandas, mosquito nets, hairdryers, mini bar, and free Wi-Fi.
Bush Suites
Three spacious family suites, each with two interleading bedrooms separated by a shared bathroom. The first bedroom has a day bed and the second has two twin beds, making it a practical and comfortable configuration for families travelling with children.
Explorer Bungalows
Three generously sized bungalows, each with large twin beds, en-suite facilities, air-conditioning, and a private patio. Set apart from one another for maximum privacy, the Explorer Bungalows are a strong choice for guests who want space and seclusion.
Honeymoon Bungalow
Sharing the same features as the Explorer Bungalows, the Honeymoon Bungalow is set in a more secluded position among the trees. It includes a romantic outdoor bath and shower, and its own private hot tub, making it the natural choice for couples.
Heritage Bungalows
Four thatched bungalows with twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, and a private outdoor patio. Each is equipped with air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, tea and coffee facilities, a safe, bush mini bar, and mosquito nets. A classic room with all the essentials covered.

Private Bush Dinners Private bush dinners can be arranged for groups of two to seven guests. Groups of more than seven can enquire about the Forest Camp Boma dinner, which is weather permitting and available once per stay.
Activities
The full range of Onguma activities is available to Forest Camp guests, including private game drives on the reserve, Etosha excursions through the Von Lindequist Gate, guided bush walks, the Onkolo Hide, the Dream Cruiser sleep-out, and spa treatments.
- Forest Camp also serves as the meet point for guests joining the Trails Camp walking safari programme.
- For Spa treatments, guests are driven to the Bush Camp Spa, only a 20min drive away.
